Who are we?
We are an alliance of professionals with complementary skills and wide experience of working in East Sussex, London and the Midlands. Pru Blackwell and Carrie Normoyle founded the company and lead the team. We work with young people in secondary and further education, and those — including adults of all ages — still seeking education, employment and training.
Our knowledge base includes curriculum KS3, KS4 and KS5; post-16 options; tutorial planning and delivery; youth work; careers education; careers guidance; labour market information; job brokerage; interview preparation; management training; coaching; psychometric assessment; counselling.
Our services are delivered through a broad network of practitioners who are qualified and experienced in these areas.
- To provide a responsive and flexible service to all our clients.
- To support successful transition and progression through impartial, face to face information, advice and guidance.
- To facilitate individual participation in education, employment or training.
My Future Starts Here is affiliated to the Career Development Institute. We work in accordance with the CDI code of ethics which sets out professional standards and values, and provides an ethical framework for all our activity.
The matrix standard
My Future Starts Here was accredited with the matrix standard in June 2013. The matrix standard is the nationally recognised quality mark for organisations which provide support to individuals to make learning and work more accessible.
As professionals in this area we had been aware of matrix over several years, and when our company was formed it was always our intention to seek accreditation as a measure of the quality of our service. We were pleased to have achieved this status only two years after the company first started.
We found the assessment process supportive and helpful in prompting us to be very clear about what we do, and to identify the measures that show the impact of our distinctive service.
At a time when there is widespread national concern about the quality of careers education in schools, My Future Starts Here is making sure that young people across Sussex can have access to a team of experienced and well-qualified professionals to support their progression and help them action plan for success.
We also work with adults trying to navigate the challenges of employment in the twenty first century. My Future Starts Here can help them to understand today’s labour market, the skills employers are looking for, and how to develop their individual career capital.
The matrix award allows us to give the assurance that we provide an accredited, independent and impartial service to all our customers. We offer flexibility, customising provision to meet individual needs. We will continue to review and develop what we offer to maintain an accessible, high-quality service to all our customers.
Charges are negotiated according to the type and duration of the service you require.
